What is the value of y in the parallelogram below? (picture) http://i.imgur.com/GloLl2o.png plz give me the best answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

78+3y=180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so It is 99?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

no, that is the value of the other two unlabeled angles

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

because the two labeled angels are equal to each other, we could create an equation

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

78=3y

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

78=3y /3 /3 y=26

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

therefore, the value of y is 26 and your answer is C. Does that make sense @thihaaung ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

incorrect ;(

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

but that is what the value is. because when you solve for y, that is the value that is recieved also because 26*3=78. However, if you are looking for the value of the adjacent angles, it would be 99 becuase both lines are parallel. So i suggest you try that one.

y=34

thanks for helped me ;)
