can't be 6, makes the fraction undefined
can't be greater than 6, makes the fraction positive and thus NOT less than 0
can't be less than -4,  makes the top and bottom negative and - * - = +, NOT <0
it can be -4, makes the top 0, and = 0, so that's ok
