Which answer best explains why Mexico had less support from its citizens than the United States during the Mexican-American War? The people of Mexico did not want slavery to spread and were opposed to the war. Most of the Mexican citizens were unaware of the war due to poor communications. Most of the residents of Mexico were Native Americans, and were not Mexican citizens. Mexican citizens had less loyalty to their government that United States citizens had.
