Which set of points represents a function? Explain your solution. a. (7,1), (1,2), (5,3), (7,3), (6,3) b. (1,7), (6,1), (7,3), (4,9), (6,3) c. (2,1), (2,4), (5,3), (4,9), (6,3) d. (1,7), (2,1), (5,3), (4,9), (6,3)
the one with no repetition in the first coordiate
so its A?
Not it wouldn't be A....as satellite has said...the 'x' coordinate cannot be repeated at all in each set of points... In A we have (7,1), (1,2), (5,3), (7,3), (6,3) (x,y), (x,y), (x,y), (x,y), (x,y), so all the 'x' values we have are 7 , 1 , 5 , 7 , 6 Notice how we have two 7's here....this is not allowed...and it means that it does NOT represent a function....which on does...?
