OpenStudy (aravindg):

What is the difference between lactam and caprolactam? Please explain.

OpenStudy (festinger):

I am not very sure about their chemical properties, but all I can say is caprolactam is a type of lactam. Lactam is a term for cyclic amides and caprolactam happens to have 6 carbon atoms in the chain.

Thank you very much.
