In the triangle below, what ratio is cos R? A. the ratio p over r B. the ratio r over q C. the ratio r over p D. the ratio p over q

@phi
do you know SOH CAH TOA ?
COS = ADJ / HYP
not really
adj = p hyp = q
oh
so it must be D p over q
CAH as ivette has posted is short for COSINE = adjacent / hypotenuse to use it, look for angle R. next, find the hypotenuse. can you do that ? It's the side opposite the 90 angle then find the adjacent side (the side of the triangle next to angle R that is *not* the hypotenuse) then make the ratio adjacent/hypotenuse
i have no idea..
if you have time, this explains it http://www.khanacademy.org/math/trigonometry/basic-trigonometry/basic_trig_ratios/v/basic-trigonometry
i have to get the answer now though D:
It's for today, my assignment
true, but if you can't do this problem then math will get harder and harder break down, and try to learn it.
you will feel better
I'll do that, i have to anyways but i need to know the answer for today
