Find the volume of the cylinder in terms of x.
h = 6 in. and r = 3 in. A. 27x in.2 B. 108x in.2 C. 54x in.2 D. 324x in.2
PI*6*(3^2)=169.646 ?????
I don't do math sorry :( I'm doing summer school for math right now too lol.
Do you know the formula for finding the volume of a cylinder?
lol- sorry! @JimmyC This Geometry is kicking my butt =)
V=PI*h*r^2
Correct. Now plug that in.
Btw, what does x represent?
I have no idea how the x fits in
I'm guessing that x represent pi. So ignore pi for now. What does 3^2 * 6 give you?
when I plug it in, I get 169.56
54
And I'm guessing since x represent pi, C should be your answer.
Why would they leave out the PI for x if they teach us the formula with using PI???? It's like deliberately confusing us >:-0
Thank you for helping me @GoldPhenoix
Don't ask me, I'm not the teacher. But that's the only way I can think of. There's no possible solution for the other answer choices.
I wasn't really asking. I was venting. I'm sorry.
No need to be sorry. :)
It just makes me a little angry that I study the formulas and learn the rules, only to throw in X instead of the formula! ;-)
