face of freedom for blacks from 1865-1900s, i have most of the topic done yet i need to find out their economical troubles during that time. any help?

Sharecropping. It was basically slavery under a different name.

After the Civil War, it was hard for them to get a job considering that they had never been educated, and their current residence hosted a large amount of people who were still very hostile towards their race. So, plantation owners gave Freedmen jobs on their plantation. Except they would have to hand over a significant portion of the crops. and if they didn't meet the quota, they would be debt and would never be able to get out. Also, without an education system set up for Freedmen, they would have to stay in their poverty.
