You'll need to set up an equation. Short segment * long segment = short segment * long segment.

OpenStudy (iesmee):

oh wow I'm lost and i havent started Dx

OpenStudy (iesmee):

alright then what after this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well really, the toughest part of this problem is setting up the equation. If you can do that, then it's basic algebra to get what you need.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So let's see you set up the equation for the problem you've got.

OpenStudy (iesmee):

idk how to be honest Dx

OpenStudy (iesmee):

ill just come back to this later on thanks though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me give you an example or two: |dw:1374687250809:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The setup in that first line is the hardest and most important part. Make sure you see how I got that.

OpenStudy (iesmee):

oooh

OpenStudy (iesmee):

I got 8 cm

OpenStudy (iesmee):

@smoothmath is this right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Another example: |dw:1374687448999:dw|

OpenStudy (iesmee):

thanks for the examples, did i get it right though? @smoothmath

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, 8 is correct =) The setup is: AB * AC = AD * AE 4*10 = 5*AE

OpenStudy (iesmee):

yesss! c:
