LCM stands for least common multiple in this question, I would first look at the choices and see if the most complicated expression of the pair is on the list of choices.

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

ok

OpenStudy (phi):

the first question is find the LCM of x+4 and x^2 +6x +8 As a first guess, look on your list of choices for the complicated expression (the x^2 +6x +8) that will be the answer

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

ok what about the next one

OpenStudy (phi):

LCM is hard for me to explain. See http://www.khanacademy.org/math/arithmetic/factors-multiples/least_common_multiple/v/least-common-multiple--lcm for how to do it with numbers.

OpenStudy (phi):

a Common Multiple is to multiply all 3 expressions together. But that will not be the Least Common Multiple.

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

oh ok

OpenStudy (phi):

can you find the LCM of just the numbers, 14,15, and 12

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

i have already finished the Q

OpenStudy (jazzyfa30):

thank you tho u have helped
