So it looks like r = 4 for the circle of the semicircular top & bottom. Circumference of a full circle: pi x 2 x r or 8pi. For half a circle: 4pi. Now you multiply this by the height (14) to get the area of the surface.
I got 56pi.
Now, I'm confused.
So you arrived at one of the answer choices. Which parts are you confused about?
But there's no pi at the end of 56.
I see. Then that's clearly a typo in the question, unless I saw the problem in a completely wrong way. As long as you can show the steps as mentioned above, you're good to go.
