how do i simplify (2)/(x+2) - (3)/(x-2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first u have to find the lowest common multiple..do u know what they are?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lcm: (x+2)(x-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, now u have to make each denominator (x+2)(x-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2(x-2)/9(x+2)(x-2)- 3(x+2)/(x+2)(x-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x-4/(x+2)(x-2)-3x+6/(x+2)(x-2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x-4-3x+6/(x+2)(x-2) then solve straight across the top but the bottom denominator the same so ur answer is: -x+2/(x+2)(x-2)* I HOPE THIS HELPS U OUT:)

oh thank you :)

ur welcome
