the recipe for a loaf cake calls for 2/3 pound of jelly beans in assorted colors. if 12 cakes are needed , how many pounds of jelly beans will be used?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

If 1 cake needs 2/3 lb of jelly beans, then 2 cakes need 2 * 2/3 lb of jelly beans, 3 cakes need 3 * 2/3 lb of jelly beans ... 12 cakes need __ * 2/3 lb of jelly beans. What goes in the blank? Then multiply the number by 2/3.
