\[(a ^{2}-b ^{2})=(a+b)(a-b)\] Here, \[4x ^{2}-9\] can be written as \[(2x) ^{2}-3^{2}\] So, \[(2x) ^{2}-3^{2}=(2x+3)(2x-3)=0\]
