Pentagon TUVWX on the coordinate plane below represents the new emblem of a nationwide restaurant chain. Congruent emblems must be created so they may be duplicated at every restaurant within the chain. If three of the vertices of the congruent emblem are located at Y(10, 9), Z(14, 6), and A(12, 2), where are the missing two vertices located? B(10, 6) and C(5, 7) B(10, 7) and C(5, 8) B(11, 6) and C(6, 7) B(11, 5) and C(6, 6)
@phi
I would plot the points as a first step. Can you do that ?
@phi here is the graph given
that looks like a different question
thats the question
@phi
I see Question 11... a quadrilateral EFGH is drawn... up top you posted: Pentagon TUVWX on the coordinate plane... which one are you working on ?
sorry about that... here is the right one @phi :)
point T corresponds to point Y how many steps do you go sideways (x direction) and up (y direction) to get from T to Y ?
can you count the boxes over and then up ?
6 over, 3 up @phi
and if you check, you will see the same 6 over 3 up will get you from U to Z that is the rule for this problem. Now if you are at point X where do you end up after going 6 over 3 up
(6,7)? @phi
yes. see if any of the choices has a (6,7) as part of the answer
as a check, start at W and go 6 over 3 up. that should give you the other point in the answer
I got it right! thanks for the hep @phi
