q1 is the middle number of 5,7,7,8,...since there are 2 middle numbers, you add them, and then divide by 2.....14/2 = 7
q3 is the middle number of 11,12,15,17.....take the 2 middle numbers, add them, then divide by 2....27/2 = 13.5
