Well...you know that each CD COST him 6.45   ...now he is selling them at 12.95 each...so he is making a profit each time...but he's already (1000 * 6.45) in the hole...so his profit would be

$$P = 12.95n - 6450$$

Where 'n' is the number of cd's he sells
