You can mostly deduct this by observing that : - the relationship line is 'curved', so the relationship isn't direct (like, y=x would make a straight line since both coordinates are the same : going off of this, y=x-1 would have the same look, but shifted because of the -1, same with y=x+1)
Also you can see it in the coordinates, like one point is 4,1/4 y=1/x if you plug in x=4, you'd get 1/4
