let x = number of minutes talked
let m = x + 500 ( number of minutes over 500 )

Calls-A-Lot :
40 + .25m

Talk away :
35 + .3m

How many minutes until they are equal? Set equation equal to each other.

40 + .25m = 35 + .3m

5 = .05m

100 = m

or 100 minutes over 500 minutes is where they become equal, at a cost of $65
