Question about function gof(x) and its domain, click to view

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[f(x)=\sqrt{x}\] \[g(x)=\frac{ 1 }{ 5-x ^{2} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find gof(x) and determine the domain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[gof(x) = 1/(5-x)\] and its domain is all real number except 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not (0, 5)U(5,+infinity)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because of the square root of x is involved, so i assumed it's x>or=0, and exclude 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's what im unsure of

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same thing except you are working with only whole numbers and 0 and +infinity should be included so it like [0,5)U(5,+infiinty]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes true we can only deal with positive numbers...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok let's hope im right i wrote that down on my final exam today.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you
