Solve for x: −3(x + 3) = −3(x + 1) − 5

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

-3x -9 = -3x -3 -5 With -3x on the left and right side of the equation, you can't solve for x. For example if x = 1,000,000 the equation reduces to -9 = -8 if x = 1 or 100 it still reduces to -9 =-8 so as I said you can't solve for x
