What is the domain of the parametric equation x=sec(t);y=cos(t)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I rewrote it in rectangular form as y=1/x but i'm not quite sure what to do for the domain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyone know?

just to clarify, the graph of the parametric equation is similar to that of y=1/x, however the line stops at 1 and -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if your equation is right and y=1/x is indeed true then domain can be any number except for 0

that is the graph of the parametric function
