how do i do this @Nory @mathstudent55

OpenStudy (nory):

If it's shifted down 3 units, that means it's plus negative 3.

OpenStudy (nory):

For example, if you had x^2 shifted down 3 units, it would be x^2 - 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x^3+3?

OpenStudy (nory):

No, if it's shifted down 3, that's x^2 - 3.

OpenStudy (nory):

Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought the sign changes since its a negative

OpenStudy (nory):

Not exactly. Remember, if you flip the whole entire graph, that means it's a negative. If you shift it down, that means you subtract a number from the equation.

Does that help?
