Remember when you were learning about lines and slope, and if you had a line with slope 3 it was steeper than a line of slope 1?

It's kind of the same idea here. You're stretching the parabola by a factor of 2, so you multiply the equation by 2. Does that make sense?

Remember when you learned about slope? If you want a line twice as steep, you just multiply the slope by 2, right?

That looks right, I think...except you would write it as 2x^2. Is that what you meant?
