|dw:1374828082408:dw| I think we have to use the fact that the inner angle of the arc is half as big as the outer angle of the arc. The inner angle here is 100 degrees. The outer angle is the 99+a. So: \[\large 100 = \frac{ 1 }{ 2 } (99+a)\] Can you find a? Start by multiplying both sides by 2.

Correct. But it would've probably been easier to multiply both sides by 2, since 2 times 1/2 cancels off and then you have no fractions, to get: 2*100 = 2*1/2*(99+a) 200=99+a a=101
