i dont understand this question, but i tried it and this is what I came up with. . . . The question is: Decide which part of the quadratic formula tells you whether the quadratic equation can be solved by factoring. −b b2 − 4ac 2a Use the part of the quadratic formula that you chose above and find its value given the following quadratic equation: 2x2 + 7x + 3 = 0 with the help of someone else on openstudy, i chose b^2-4ac.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this part b2 − 4ac

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so after that, the equation would be 0=-2x^2-7x-3 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes b= 7 a=2 c=3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so then i would plug it into the quadratic formula and that would give me.. . . . give me a minute to plug it in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find this value b2 − 4ac

OpenStudy (anonymous):

49-24

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is that what i put into the blank? or what do i put into the blank?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or do i put 49-24=25 or do i just put 25. Sorry , im kinda still confused
