How would you work out (3x^(2)+3x-36)/(x^(2)-x-6) in steps?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am thinking you have to use quotient rule....have u learnt this method yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A little, I'm on the subject now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so.... quotient rule is lets say ur top function is f(x) and ur botom function is g(x) so the quotient rule formula is (g(x)f(x)'-f(x)g(x)')/g(x)^2

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

@setaynagem are you needing to get the dy/dx of that rational?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All that it says is that I need to show my work for the problem. The answer is supposed to be 3(x+4) over x+2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

apply the formula that i gave u above did u understand the formula??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright!
