Look at the figure shown below. A student made the table shown below to prove that XY is equal to YZ. Statements Justifications NY = MY Given m∡MYX = m∡NYZ Given m∡XNY = m∡ZMY Given Missing Proof. m∡MYZ = m∡MYX + m∡XYZ Angle Addition Postulate m∡MYZ = m∡NYZ + m∡XYZ Substitution m∡NYX = m∡MYZ Transitive Property triangleXYN ≅ triangleZYM ASA postulate XY = ZY CPCTC A. Provide the missing statement and justification in the proof. B. Using complete sentences, explain why the proof would not work without the missing step.
@AwesomeB
Help?
@Jamierox4ev3r
ugh i did these 3 years ago -.- idk if i remember but i will do my best
Okay.(:
wait do we know where the missing proof is supposed to go
In the blank spot in between the two things.
ah okay after all the Given stuff omg i will try not to make my brain hurt :/
Okay.(:
hmmmmm idk i have a few guesses but idk if they are right for sure so i better not confuse you. Tag someone who has a rlly high smart score, maybe they can help you :/ i never liked geometry
I don't know anyone with a high score. O_o you do it.
@ivettef365
Ivette?
I'm thinking
Okay(:
could it be angle XYZ = angle XYZ by Reflexive Property but that is my guess
It is reflexive property but why would the proof not work without it?
I said this, "Normally, a proof needs Reflexive Property in order to work. Without it, the proof is not correct. Reflexive property states the an angle equals the same angle. "
I want to add more to it but I don't know what to put.
@campbell_st Could you help too?
I like @ivettef365 reflexve property. the only other is m NYM = 180 a straight angle
Yeah, but I have to write in complete sentences why the proof would not work without the missing statement and justification.
