HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

8x+8=4x+28 because they are both equal to each other -4x -8 -4x -8 ------------ 4x=20 x=5

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

now we know the variable equals 5, and we plug it in to the equations

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

8(5)+8 40+8 =48 4(5)=28 20+28 =48

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

multiplied by two =96

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

That's not correct @Jamierox4ev3r This is the same principle as your last question - the angles are co-interior angles and add up to 180: 8x+8 + 4x+28 = 180 First group the terms together: 8x + 4x + 8 + 28 = 180
