In a 45-45-90 right triangle, what is the ratio of the length of one leg to the length of the other leg?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[A. 1: \sqrt{2}\] \[B. 2:1\] \[C. 1:1\] \[D. \sqrt{2} :1\]

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

Well, that triangle is isoceles (every triangle that has two equal angles is isoceles). Since it is isoceles, the legs have the same length, and therefore the ratio of their lengths is one

OpenStudy (ivancsc1996):

@shamim the ratio is of the legs, not the angles 45-45
