OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well you know that \[a_{2} = a \times r\] or \[50 = a \times r\] the 4th term \[a_{4} = a \times r^3\]' rewriting this equation it can be \[112.5 = a \times r \times r^2\] substitute that value for a x r and its \[112.5 = 50 \times r^2\] now just solve for r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

r^2=2.25?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

yep... so take the square root to find the value of r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1.5?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

thats it... thats r

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

hope it all made sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got it! thank you
