A fifteen-gallon gas tank is forty percent full. Which proportion could be used to determine how many gallons of gasoline are in the tank?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Do you have choices?

OpenStudy (austinl):

\[\frac{40}{100} = \frac{x}{15}\] This seems like a good possibility.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

100x = 600 x = 6 yes..because 40% of 15 = (.4)(15) = 6

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

good one austin :)

OpenStudy (austinl):

Why thank you! :)
