Find two consecutive integers whose sum is 73. Which of the following equations could be used to solve the problem? .2x+2=73?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Int1 + int2 = 73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If int1 = x, what does int2 = ?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well, if one integer is say "a" the next one to be CONSECUTIVE will have to be "a + 1" so one is "a" the other "a+1" add them up, = 73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, your equation is correct. I read it wrong. Sorry.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

a+1 or a-1 really, but anyhow

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Almost, 2x + 1 = 73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Consecutive odd or consecutive even would be +2
