Mathematics 8 Online

2x^2 + 16x + 32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(2x + 4) (x + 8) is where I am so far

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lets try it like this :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*2 not 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

although that's wrong too lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you take out 2 you will have \[2(x^2 + 8x+16)\] now what * what = 16 , but What + what = 8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep :) so we also know that we need x * x to get x^2 so we have \[2(x+4)(x+4)\] or if you want to get fancy \[2(x+4)^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lifesaver^2!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)
