I just received feedback from a peer-reviewed article that is to be published pending revisions. The reviewer tells me to eliminate first person pronouns that I have used throughout to describe the research activities and discoveries made by me and my coauthor. According to Purdue OWL, (http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/15/), "When writing in APA Style, you can use the first person point of view when discussing your research steps ("I studied ...") and when referring to yourself and your co-authors ("We examined the literature ..."). What is your understanding?
