OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Which of these statements is correct about Process 1 and Process 2? Both processes create high mountains. Both processes create mid-ocean ridges. Process 1 creates mid-ocean ridges and Process 2 creates faults. Process 2 creates mid-ocean ridges and Process 1 creates faults.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

@texaschic101 @uri can you help

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I think it is the last one

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I was thinking the other way around but no sure

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

faults are fractures in the earth's crust....that would be process 1.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

what is the red in process one is that magma?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

yeah true...so could it be B also

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

no, I think your answer is right......I think it is C

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

But could a fault happen in a river though?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

not sure....let me search more

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I think it could...

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

it should be C right?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

what process 2 looks like to me is not so much about the river, just the movement of the shifting of the ground and the river just happens to be there. Does that make sense ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I would go with C

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Yes it does. Thanks that what I would go with too :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

good deal

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

One group of students did an experiment to study the movement of ocean water. The steps of the experiment are listed below. Fill a rectangular baking glass dish with water. Place a plastic bag with ice in the water near the left edge of the dish. Place a lighted lamp near the left edge of the dish so that its light falls directly on the plastic bag. Put a few drops of ink in the water. The student did not observe any circulation of ink in the water as expected because the experiment had a flaw. Which of these statements best describes the flaw in the experiment? Not enough ink was added. Not enough water was taken. The dish was too small for the experiment. The lamp and the ice bag were at the same place. @texaschic101 do you get this too

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I can't really visualize this in my mind

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

this one is tricky.....was the lamp there to melt the ice ?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I think but not sure

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sorry....I do not know this one.

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Its fine how about this one Which of these locations is most likely have coolest summers and warmest winters? Location A Location B Location C Location D

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Think about this....the ice cube would start to move once it started to melt (getting lighter in weight) unless, there wasn't enough water. lol...thats just a guess. Let me start checking out the next question...hold on

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Thank you

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Did you find anything?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

Not really.....should I be going by water temperature ?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I not sure but how do you feel about C on the plastic bag question?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

possibly.....C on the plastic bag sounds good to me

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Thanks how about the Florida question? :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I really don't know about the Florida one....I am just not being much of a help on these last ones....sorry about that

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

it is completly okay you are very helpful though do you get this: The mass of Object 2 is double the mass of Object 5. The mass of Object 4 is half of the mass of Object 5 and the mass of Object 3 is half of the mass of Object 4. Which of these objects attracts Object 1 with the least gravitational force? Object 1 Object 2 Object 3 Object 4

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I was thinking I got a guess just wanted to make sure

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

You think you got a guess too?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I am guessing 3 has the least gravitational force because there is less mass....what do you think ?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I was saying 4 because it is at the same position from each other and they are about the same size too but not sure

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

idk maybe you're right

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

no...check this out.....you are probably right. Look at the illustrations in the middle of the page. http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Class/circles/u6l3c.cfm

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Yeah but I am not sure of if they are the least gravitational maybe it's the highest

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

oh wait.....if it is smaller then there is less force......it would be 3 (I think)

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

"Since gravitational force is inversely proportional to the square of the separation distance between the two interacting objects, more separation distance will result in weaker gravitational forces. So as two objects are separated from each other, the force of gravitational attraction between them also decreases." This is what I found in that article

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

But does the mass matter too?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

yes, but that is talking about distance.....they are the same distances, so you have to go by mass

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

True lets do some more research just to make sure...

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sounds good to me

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

:)

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I think 3 is right! Cuz the farther away with the planets the least force (example earth and pluto have little force on each) Do you agree?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

we could figure this out mathematically if we knew the mass of 1

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

lol i know! :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

I would go with 3, but it is your choice and your grade.....pressure is on you...lol

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

lol thanks! :) i will go with 3 Which of these labels best fits the empty cell in the diagram? Creation of living virus molecules from plants Splitting up of molecules to form simple structures Reaction between non-living and living molecules Combining of molecules to form complex structures I don't get this either! :(

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I understand this a little just trying to make sure

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

what do you think......I am thinking C, but we are stepping into biology and that is not my best subject

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

o I am sorry I was thinking D

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

that could be right.....I am not good at biology

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

Its okay! Do you understand this one? Or is this biology? The diagram below shows undisturbed fossils in sedimentary rocks in two different locations. Which of these conclusions is most likely correct about the locations? Both the locations have dense forests. Both the locations are submerged under water. Location 1 is a forest at present and Location 2 was a forest in the past. Location 2 is a forest at present and Location 1 was a forest in the past.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

well......look at the fossils.....they look like fossils found in water...see the fish....I am guessing B.....what do you think

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

I was thinking C and B

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

are forests gonna have fish fossils ?

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

The leaf could be found in the water right? cuz if it is then its B

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

lol what was I thinking

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

you have been doing a lot of work.....your brain is tired...lol

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

yep I thank you too! :)

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sorry, but I have to go now......hope I helped....c ya later...friend

OpenStudy (superhelp101):

You are the besst you helped me sooo much you should be proud my friend bye!! :):):)
