do you know what like terms are?
12+4xy+5x+5y ; You combine the like terms, meaning you add or subtract the similar numbers together (whole numbers go together, x's go together, y's go together and xy's go together). In this case, the 2 and the 10 add together, the 4xy stays the same, you subtract 3x from 8x, and 5y stays the same.
