Help simplifying 3(x + 5) - 2(x + y)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

first solve parenthesis then combine like terms

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x + 13y?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

now you can only combine the 5x - 2x, so you have 3x -2y + 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well that is not one of my options :/

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

what are the options ??

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

I got it

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

my mistake ,should be 3x + 15 -2x -2y so 3x -2x = x so it is x - 2y + 15
