Why did George Washington convince British General Edward Braddock to let him serve as his personal aide? He wanted to improve poor relations between the British and the Americans. He respected Braddock and wanted to gain knowledge and experience in the military. He wanted to learn more about Britain's government in order to prepare for his presidency. He knew he could convince the general to let him lead the troops during the French and Indian War.
