i'd go with A because the reason Abbasid caliphs decided to build Baghdad in the Tigris river because the land their was fertile land. Areas near the rivers attracted merchants because these places were a great source for furnishing food by grow crops, hunting fishes or any animals near the river (animals mostly found near the rivers for survival), and a suitable environment to tame.
