x^2+8x+12=0 quad formula. is x=-2, x=-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't need quadratic formula as the quadratic can be normally factored. Notice that 2 and 6 multiply to +12 and add up to +8 hence the factorisation is:\[\bf (x+6)(x+2)=0 \implies x = -6,-2\]You CAN use the quadratic formula here although it's unnecessary. @dabeezy
