2(x + 5) > 8x – 8 ? i know the answer is x < 3 but i dont know how to solve it step by step ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get that the answer is x<3 if you don't know how to do it step by step? :P What do you think you would do first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first multiply out the bracket on left side 2x+10>8x-8 then bring x's to left and constants to right 2x-8x>-8-10 -6x>-18 then divide accross by -6 x>3

OpenStudy (uri):

2(x + 5) > 8x – 8 Solve the bracket first 2x+10 >8x-8 Subract 10 both sides 2x+10>8x-8 -10 -10 --------------- 2x >8x-18 Shift 8x to the left 2x-8x>-18 -6x>-18 x>-18/-16 x>3
