Decide whether you would use the graphing, substitution, or elimination method to solve the following system of equations. Explain, in complete sentences, why you chose that method. 2x + 5y = −3 −15x − 5y = −10 My answer is I would use elimination because all the coefficients have no common factor bigger than 1, and the x coefficients are addictive inverses. This will make easier to use elimination. Does this sound ok? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is elimination! (+5y) and (-5y) can easily be eliminated right away!

Thanks! Is my explanation good? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would say something along the lines of: I would use the elimination method. The y values can easily be eliminated by adding the two equations together.
