the formula to find the wind chill temp is given by w=33-(10.45+10sqrv-v)(33-t)/22 w=wind chill t=actual temp in celcius V=wind speeds in m/sec find the wind chill temp given the following t=10 degree celcius, v=9 m/sec
if it would help i will write the formula out
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the formula \[W=\frac{33-(10.45+10\sqrt v-v)(33-t)}{22}\] Your equation is a bit ambiguous.
Yes, please do.
thats the one
i am having a hard time doing this question
Okay, so you're given \(t=10\) and \(v=9\): \[W=\frac{33-(10.45+10\sqrt {10}-10)(33-9)}{22}\] So you need help with simplifying that? I'd use a calculator since I'm lazy...
ok
Are you supposed to do this by hand? It's not impossible, just takes some time
yeah i am supposed to show work also sorry about this one
Okay, well here's the answer you're supposed to get, according to the formula: http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%2833-%28.45%2B10*Sqrt%5B10%5D%29%2824%29%29%2F22 \[W=\frac{33-(10.45+10\sqrt {10}-10)(33-9)}{22}\\ W=\frac{33-(0.45+10\sqrt {10})(24)}{22}\\ W=\frac{33-(10.8+240\sqrt {10})}{22}\\ W=\frac{33-10.8-240\sqrt {10}}{22}\\ W=\frac{22.2-240\sqrt {10}}{22}\\ W=\frac{11.1-120\sqrt {10}}{11} \] That's as much as I'm willing to write by hand. I don't know the square root of 10 off the top of my head, but at least you have an exact answer here.
thank you so much
