substitute your values into the formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be (5+6)35? @Sloth7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 + (35 - 1) 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

giving me 209

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what I could say is by plugging my variables into the sum formula it allowed me to accurately calculate the correct number of total toothpicks. @Sloth7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the number of toothpicks on the bottom row, use the equation a(sub-n) = a(sub-1) + (n - 1)d, where n is the number of rows, d is the difference, and 1 is the value of the first row

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Sloth7 and that was 209 correct. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ya

@Sloth7 Thank you
