so what I could say is by plugging my variables into the sum formula it allowed me to accurately calculate the correct number of total toothpicks. @Sloth7
To find the number of toothpicks on the bottom row, use the equation a(sub-n) = a(sub-1) + (n - 1)d, where n is the number of rows, d is the difference, and 1 is the value of the first row
