OpenStudy (shubhamsrg):

Arrange 8 pieces on an 8x8 board such that no two pieces are on the same horizontal line, vertical line or diagonal line. I have found few solutions to it but all have been hit and trial. I want to know if there is any logical/mathematical approach to it ? Also can we use PnC to know how many total solutions exist ?

I wonder if the other solutions are just turning this one around or if there are completely different ones. |dw:1375342817527:dw|
