What is the slope represented by this table of values for a linear function? A table with two columns showing x−values in the left column and y-values in the right column. The following coordinate pairs are listed in the rows: two comma seven, four comma ten, six comma thirteen, and eight comma sixteen. slope equals three slope equals two-thirds slope equals two slope equals three over two

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

to find the slope just get two points and use slope formula you have points (2,7) (4,10) (6,13) and (8,16)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is it though

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

use formula to find slope y2 - y1 ------ x2 - x1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did it though but I didn't get the right answer can you explain step by step?

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

ok you have x,y (1) x,y (2) points (2,7) and (4,10) 10 -7 3 ----- = ------ 4 - 2 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh I put the formula wrong!
