How would the slope of a line that passes through the points negative thirty-three comma negative six and fourteen comma negative six be defined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer choices are positive negative zero undefined

OpenStudy (uri):

(-33,-6) and (14,-6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it would be positive is that right?

OpenStudy (uri):

Positive...hmmm how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because negative 33, negative 6 is a lower number that's gridded than 14, negative 6

OpenStudy (uri):

ye maybe I'm not sure...Hmm @amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

y = -6 is constant between the points

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what is the slope of a line that is constructed of all points (x,-6) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

zero

OpenStudy (amistre64):

then i would say we choose zero :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay is it right

OpenStudy (amistre64):

logic dictates that if it looks like a cat, acts like a cat, sleeps like a cat, and meows like a cat .... that it must be a dog i assume :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lol, we went thru the process of defining a slope of zero, so i would say that zero is the correct answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks can you help with my other question
