OpenStudy (ivettef365):

the length of the traversal axis is 2.7= 14

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

I meant transverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get that

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

(x-h)^2 (y+2)^2 -------- - --------- = 1 a^2 b^2 a = 7, transverse axis = 2a = 2.7 = 14

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

I meant (y-k) on (y+2)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the transverse axis is related to the value under the positive portion .... it is twice the length of what is being squared
