the length of the traversal axis is 2.7= 14
I meant transverse
how did you get that
(x-h)^2 (y+2)^2 -------- - --------- = 1 a^2 b^2 a = 7, transverse axis = 2a = 2.7 = 14

I meant (y-k) on (y+2)
the transverse axis is related to the value under the positive portion .... it is twice the length of what is being squared
