Use two variables and two equations. Solve by any method you choose. Write your answer in the appropriate form. The drama club at Lincoln High School sells hot chocolate and coffee at the school s football games to make money for their special trip. At one game they sold $200 worth of hot drinks. They need to report how many of each type of drink they sold for their clubs records. Macha knows that they used 295 cups that night. If hot chocolate sells for $0.75 and coffee sells for $0.50, how many of each type of drink did they sell?

Think about the information they gave you. x= Hot Chocolate y= Coffee x+y=295 0.75x+0.5y=200 Do you got know how I got those equations?

@Jay567 yea. so now i would use the substitute method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry for the late reply

Yeah, the substitution method would be the best thing to do. You can also try getting rid of a variable and then adding the two equations together. Substitution might be easier.
